Enable Infrastructure (formerly known as BCM Construction)are pleased to be participating in the Lloyd’s Register funded research into the development of data science techniques in construction.
The Discovering Safety programme is the development of new techniques to analyse data and aggregate data from sources worldwide, the key output being new learning to assist in the reduction of incidence and injuries, non-injury accidents, and cases of work-related ill-health.
For Enable Infrastructure it means having to participate in 2 interviews, the first taking about 2 hours, the second taking about an hour (for verification purposes).
This study has been introduced to prevent future work accidents occurring whilst simultaneously contributing to the development of safety within the industry. Further to this Enable Infrastructure will have access to the findings with recommendations and insights, thus an opportunity to improve the effectiveness of safety oversight within the company.
The key HSE goals for the nationwide study are to understand how to access and use routine safety and health data in new ways to provide a fresh approach to improving performance by applying novel data science, artificial intelligence and machine learning techniques in the health and safety context.
Enable Infrastructure are pleased to be contributing to the development of safety within the industry by participating in this study. With a range of internal safety initiatives coming to fruition, this will further assist in our development to improve safety within the company and the industry, respectively.
