14 October 2020
Since graduating 25 years ago, Martin has worked within the civil engineering industry. During this time Martin has worked in many sectors in the UK and Canada including road, rail, and airports, giving him the network to capture knowledge from the wide construction community and put this into practice. His excellent safety record and practical experience have seen Martin efficiently manage numerous projects from estimation to completion.
Previously coming from a senior operational management position in Alberta Canada for Graham Construction, where he predominantly managed jobs relating to civils and transport infrastructure. Martin is excited to transfer his knowledge into this new challenge and hit the ground running with Enable Infrastructure (formerly known as BCM Construction).
Operations Director, Dan Wiscombe said this on Martin joining the company. “I am delighted that Martin has joined Enable Infrastructure. His role is to be based in the south of England delivering projects and will strengthen my leadership team. He will be responsible for delivering current live projects as well as developing new opportunities and helping us diversify into new markets. He brings a wealth of rail and infrastructure knowledge and experience. He is a key addition to the business. I have personally worked with Martin previously and his attention to detail, technical expertise, pre-construction experience, and passion for delivery will be a key benefit to Enable Infrastructure”.
When asked on his opinions on joining the company he gave three reasons as to why he was pleased to become a Regional Manager with Enable Infrastructure: “Joining now is a great opportunity as the business is growing and diversifying, where I can contribute by putting my multi-discipline and multi-industry experience to good use; The key Enable Infrastructure values of safety first and taking care of colleagues align with my own primary drivers for job satisfaction, and; Having worked for large contracting organisations in the past, I am looking forward to being part of a team which is more like a family where everyone is known and appreciated, rather than an enterprise”.
When asked to give an insight into Martin’s life outside of work, this is what he had to say. “If I could manage it, I would spend every spare moment I have skiing or at least planning the next trip! However, as that is not always possible, I enjoy any activity that keeps me outside whether it is going to the beach, tennis, walking, and even gardening. I live in Hampshire with my wife and two teenage children, plus a dog and a cat.”
Welcome to Enable Infrastructure Martin!
